WELCOME to SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL of CAPITOLA-BY-THE-SEA!

President Pamela Ballmes and Carol DeLauder
Club Mail: P.O. Box 576, Capitola, CA 95010

We meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays at 6 pm
Loma Vista Estates Clubhouse, 4425 Clares Street, Capitola

The first meeting each month is a business meeting and the second meeting each month is a program meeting. We offer time to socialize at 5:30 p.m. and dinner along with the main program at 6:00. If you'd like to join us for dinner, reservations are requested by the day before the meeting, as your delicious meal will be ordered from Gayle's Bakery in Capitola. Please contact Mary Ann Kaplan. See our club calendar for program details.

Past-President Monica DaCosta

Past-President Monica DaCosta receives a patch
and certificate at the District I meeting.

As of July, 2005, we have a new name as well as a new meeting place and time. We invite you to take the time to get to know our friendly and vibrant club and enjoy our innovative, positive approaches to fellowship, fund raising and service! At each meeting we contribute to our convention fund not by levying fines on each other, but by contributing "happy dollars" as we each share a happy event from the previous week. We offer a variety of fundraisers in which our members participate, which raise money to support our service projects. These include our main annual fund raiser, "Bras for a Cause", working at the Capitola Art and Wine Festival, holding yard sales, selling our cook book and more. It is our club that provides the delicious luncheon each year for Big Basin Friendship Day.

Club members at Leadership Summit

Club members look forward to Leadership Summit each year.

We are steadfast in our commitment to the Soroptimist mission, improving the lives of women and girls in our community and around the world. Our current local focus projects include WomenCARE, an organization which supports cancer patients and their families, as well as GEMMA, a new organization providing housing and a helping hand for women leaving the Santa Cruz County prison system. If you'd like to learn more, please feel free to browse our site and get in touch with us. We hope you'll consider joining us for dinner!
