Meet Veronica Elsea!
Veronica joined SI Capitola-by-the-Sea on November 16, 1995. She has served as President for two terms, Vice-President, secretary and is currently a board member. She lives in Santa Cruz with her husband of 29 years, Peter. She owns Laurel Creek Music Designs, a music production company. Her two released CDs, "Guide Dogs, First Hand" and "The Guide Dog Glee Club" have sold in 15 countries and are both still available. She plans to release "Diabetes Melodious" in 2007. When she joined our club, she brought with her, a black lab guide dog named L'Orange. Just before his retirement in 2001, L'Orange was honored at the Sierra Pacific Region spring conference for 25 years of Soroptimist service because, well, that's what it was------in dog years! In addition to her working dog, she has a very large collection of stuffed animals. She is also fascinated by weather and if she were sighted, would probably have sought a weather forecasting job so she could finance her music dreams. She'd love to visit Alaska and New Zealand. When she was four, she got in a lot of trouble because she brought one of the family calves into her bedroom. "I hope I can bring some of that curiosity and sense of adventure to those around me, as well as to the serious work I do, both on my own and on behalf of my Soroptimist club." She is very good at delegating---she tried to get her identical twin to confess to the calf caper!! Finally, she would like to publicly thank Sheila Vaughn for helping her build the gingerbread dog house this year. "I'm really enjoying all of you in the club. Thank you for being part of my life." |
