Soroptimist International of Carmel Bay has one hands-on service project—Stocking Stuffers. At Christmas time, we fill Christmas stockings with toiletries, candy and small gifts for senior citizens, battered women and their children. In fact, any agency who needs a little holiday boost for their people can get stockings from us. We do not meet the actual recipients, but rather, the agency administrators. Since so many of us travel during the year we save all our little soaps and shampoos, etc. from the hotel rooms, plus we get a box of goodies from our friendship link in Musashino, Japan, and we supplement with some purchases and donations of stuffed animals for the children. |
