WHO WE ARE

The word Soroptimist means “best for women.” Now, blend that with access to the world. We are an international women’s service organization with more than 100,000 members in 114 countries, dedicated to improving the lives of women and children, starting right here in Santa Cruz! We think globally and act locally. Soroptimist International of Santa Cruz (SISC) gives scholarship and citizenship awards to outstanding young people, training awards to re-entry women, and awards of money to other organizations in our community.

SOROPTIMIST STORIES

At a club meeting in February 2003, SISC members paired up to interview each other and write each other’s “Soroptimist story.” These stories serve not only to add to our history, but also as a way to know each other in a meaningful way by sharing our Soroptimist experience and commitment.
