This year SI Burlingame-San Mateo-Mid
Peninsula's SOS project will be painting for the Women's Recovery Association.
There are six rooms; something so simple will make all the difference
in the world to these women who are trying to rebuild their lives after
substance abuse. The Women's Recovery Association is headquartered in
Burlingame. Their mission is to assist women, adolescent girls, and their
families in recovering from alcohol and chemical dependency. This is done
with sensitivity, dignity, and respect. WRA provides a range of services
designed to support long term recovery to women from diverse social, economic,
and cultural backgrounds. Their vision statement says it all "Restoring
lives..one woman at a time."
