SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL of BURLINGAME-SAN MATEO/MID-PENINSULA FUNDRAISERS

Each year we have a food booth at Art In The Park in Burlingame. The proceeds go back into the community.

A very clever member came up with a great way for the members to raise money for our General Fund. We each received $1.00. We are to take that $1.00 and turn it into as much as we can. It will require us to use our imaginations; we can work in a team or work alone. This stands to be a fun and exciting fundraiser. Our deadline for turning in our money is 12/12/07. Updates to follow.

CLAWS FOR CELEBRATION!
Our first annual Lobster Sale fundraiser was very successful. Preorders were taken and on the day of pick up we had sold 360 lobsters. The lobsters averaged one to 1 ½ pounds each and were purchased for $18. The lobsters arrived fresh from Maine that day and were packed in Styrofoam-lined boxes. We have had a lot of feed back after everyone had their dinner as to how wonderful the flavor was.

Our second annual Lobster Sale was held September 2007 and was also very successful. It rained the day of pick up but did not stop the eager eaters from picking up their wiggly little creatures. Not only is this an excellent fundraiser, it is also a lot of fun and not a whole lot of work.

All proceeds will go to scholarships and local service projects. Everyone is looking forward to next year.
