Women's Opportunity Award
The Women's Opportunity Award aids women seeking to improve their economic status by gaining additional skills, training and education. The program helps women who, as the primary wage earners for their families, must improve their employment status by entering or returning to the work force. Our 2006 winner is Shannon Seidner. She is a single mother raising two children and has the dedication and mental drive to show her children that even if you don't have much in life you can always be great, and with smart decisions, be successful. Shannon's ultimate career goal is to be a Register Nurse, and she is currently doing her prerequisite classes for the nursing program at the College of San Mateo. She received $1000 from our club, and she was also the Sierra Pacific Region award winner.
