Soroptimist International was founded in 1921 in Oakland, CA. With almost 100,000 members in 119 countries, we are the largest business and professional women's service organization in the world.

Soroptimist International of Silicon Valley was founded on December 4, 1924, as Soroptimist International of San Jose. We renamed the club after merging with two other local clubs to better represent our members, who are local business owners, professionals, politicians, executives and managers.

Our vision is to be the voluntary service organization chosen by all business and professional women committed to improving the lives of women and girls. We have pledged our time, talents and financial resources to enrich our communities. We want all women and girls to live free from all forms of violence and discrimination, thereby enabling them to achieve their full potential. We recognize and appreciate our commitment to the global community, and value our role as world citizens.

We have a business and program meeting on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m., except July and December, when the club meets for a social meeting. Currently, we are meeting at the Los Gatos Lodge, Los Gatos.
