SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL of CALAVERAS COUNTY “NIGHT OF GIVING”: COMMON GROUND SENIOR SERVICES MEALS ON WHEELS PROGRAM

Elizabeth Thompson, Executive Director of Common Ground Senior Services accepted the final award for their Meals on Wheels program. Elizabeth’s eyes lit up when she received a check in the amount of $8,500. Meals on Wheels delivers nutritional, well-balanced meals to seniors throughout Calaveras County who are homebound because of health or transportation reasons. “It’s not just the meals; it’s the well-being check-ins that are one of the most important components of the program,” said Elizabeth. “The amazing thing is that SICC member Kathi Flores called me to see if they could help,” after learning of their deficit.
