2007-2008 Club Activities

Holiday Luncheon & Silent Auction - Wednesday, November 28, 2007
Motor Madness - Saturday, March 29, 2008
Junior Miss - Saturday, February 23, 2008
Spirit Tree - Friday, November 23 - Sunday, December 16

See's Candy sales are ongoing at Oak Ridge Market. Profits from sales benefit our Transistional House.

SI Oakdale will be participating in the City of Oakdale's Halloween Festival. After a parade the children will return to the Bianchi Community Center for the Halloween Festival. SI Oakdale is sponsoring a booth and it will be a bean bag toss into a giant pumpkin. Children will receive a prize for making it through one of the openings, eyes, nose or mouth.

Sprit Tree: SI Oakdale is once again co-sponsoring the community "Spirit Tree" for the needy children in our community. The tree will go up on November 23 and remain up until December 16. This year's location is Save Mart in Oakdale. Members of the community select a childs tag and ourchase needed items then return them for wrapping and distribution.

In past year's the tree has provided Christmas gifts for as many as 650 children and 150+ senior citizens who would otherwise be without gifts. It is a worthwhile event and we are proud to be part of.

Transistional House: Our Transistional House is an ongoing project and always a first priority. It currently has 4 residents and while the reason they are there is unfortunate, we are pleased to have full occupancy for the first time in a long time. We are currently in thr process of rasing funs to put into a "New Roof" fund. The roof was recently repaired but it wont be long before a new one is needed. In addition we are trying to get additional Grant monies for counseling, maintenance and hopefully roof funding.
