On February 8, 2003, Soroptimist International of Lodi, Lodi Sunrise, Manteca and Ripon joined more than 150 clubs around the world in the second annual Saturday of Service event in which Soroptimist members plan and carry out a hands-on service project in their local area. The clubs volunteered at the Mary Graham Hall in Stockton. Projects included presenting the children with their own personalized book. Joan Morris of SI Sunrise Club wrote their names in the books in calligraphy. SI Manteca members assisted the children in decorating Valentine cookies. Lodi Sunrise helped the children make bead key rings and SI Lodi members taught them how to make bead bracelets with their names on them. Members played games, read books and enjoyed a pizza lunch with the children.
