SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL of TWAIN HARTE Getting to Know Us

Soroptimist International of Twain Harte invites you to join a dynamic, caring group of business and professional women dedicated to improving the well being of children and women of all ages.

Founded in 1967, Soroptimist International of Twain Harte has consistently provided a lively, motivated atmosphere where business and professional women of all ages come together for friendship and service.

The club meets for lunch weekly at a Twain Harte restaurant. Typically we have one business meeting a month and two program meetings which inform and enlighten. All members join at least one committee which may meet separately.

Through our international organization, we join 90,000 business and professional women in nearly 120 countries, working to improve conditions for women and children around the globe. Soroptimists hold a seat at the United Nations and keep members informed and involved with issues and special project helping women and girls worldwide.

As part of Soroptimist International, our Twain Harte club sponsors two SIA award program.

Women's Opportunity Award - This inspirational program offers recognition and cash awards to women returning to school while heading their household. Local winners go on to compete for regional and national honors.

Violet Richardson Award - Named fro one of SIA's founders, this program honors and encourages girls involved in community service with a cash award to share with the nonprofit organization of their choice. Local winners go on to compete for region and national recognition.
