SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL of CERES COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS

Our current identifying project is the Stanislaus Recovery Center. The Center works to assist women to be able to return to society as assets to their community and successful in their personal lives. For more information on this project, click here SEW (Soroptimists Encouraging Women).

Soroptimist members have donated a very nice array of gently worn clothing for the Clothes Closet at SRC. Clothing is gathered at club meeting the first Wednesday of each month.

Another favorite service project of ours is the Hale Aloha Convalescent Hospital. We have “adopted” the folks there and make it a point throughout the year to do fun things to enrich their lives. We have provided personalized holiday greeting cards for each of them, given gifts, had special pet days, and Christmas caroling in December.

SI Ceres is a very busy club. Some of our ongoing projects include the Daniel Whitmore Museum, Baby Think It Over, Christmas for Needy Families, Argus Teen Program, Ceres High Grad Night, Children's Crisis Center, Christian Berets, Salvation Army Camperships, Women's Haven Center, Women of Distinction, Momobile, ARC, Women's Opportunity Awards, Miss Ceres Scholarship Pageant, Ceres High, Endeavor High and Argus High Scholarships. Our service programs change as the needs of our community change.
