SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL of CHOWCHILLA SATURDAY OF SERVICE

Soroptimist Saturday of Service joins Soroptimist together on the Saturday before International Women’s Day (March 8) to carry out a project to improve the lives of women and girls. This annual event was started in 2002 by nine Soroptimist clubs near Phoenix, Ariz. Clubs throughout the world participate in a Soroptimist Saturday of Service event each year. This year, Chowchilla Soroptimists volunteered their time selling and finishing up orders for the American Cancer Society Daffodil Days and helped to oversee the landscaping clean up at Golden Acres.

Chowchilla Soroptimist join with 95,000 Soroptimists in about 120 countries and territories worldwide to contribute time and financial support to community-based projects benefiting women. In addition, the club participates in Soroptimist International of the Americas major project, the Women’s Opportunity Awards program – cash grants for women seeking to improve their economic situation through additional training and / or education.
