The MOMobile concept began in 1992 as a dream of Soroptimist International of Waterford. Motivated by the fact that nearly 30% of pregnant women in Stanislaus County were not seeking adequate care, they approached Doctors Medical Center Foundation with the idea of a mobile medical clinic. It seemed that then, as well as now, the lack of transportation to traditional healthcare facilities prevented many women from seeking care. With collaboration from many sources the dream came true. Today, Golden Valley Health Centers is proud to provide the staffing and administration for the MOMoblile, which is a collaborative community effort. They partner with doctors Medical Center Foundation, Soroptimist International of Modesto and Modesto North, Stanislaus County Children and Families Commission and Blue Cross of California. The MOMobile stops in different South Modesto neighborhoods each day of the week to provide access to health care services. Most of our stops are near schools and large apartment complexes to make it convenient for families who find it difficult to travel across town. CHILDREN, have special health care needs when they are sick or healthy. The MOMobile makes a special effort to make it easier for parents to get the care that their children need. The medical staff is also keenly aware of the health care issues that affect WOMEN. We offer exceptional care to women of all ages, from gynecological exams to prenatal care. The mission of Golden Valley Health Centers is to improve the health of our patients by providing quality, primary health care services to people in the communities we serve regardless of language, financial or cultural barriers.
