SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL of PATTERSON FUNDRAISERS

Soroptimist International of Patterson has an annual Holiday Auction in November that brings in the majority of service fund money for the year.

When the auction began many years ago, it was held during a Soroptimist Luncheon meeting the first Tuesday in December. Over the years it has evolved to a Sunday afternoon tea in November with members bringing desserts.

The auction originally featured handmade items for Christmas. Now, members bring all types of auction gifts for every holiday of the year. Although the auction items are not handmade they are of top quality and those who attend each year comment that our gifts are first class.

The oral auction is fun and we have had professional auctioneers as well as club members connect with the audience to bring the bidding up in a fun way.

The silent auction tables enable everyone to bring something home at a reasonable price. Jewelry items are popular silent auction items.

Our auction features everything from trips, baskets, gift certificates, dinners and lunches in members homes, to fun crafts for the home.

Everyone in our club pitches in and attendees get a warm welcome and come back year after year. Most years we raise from $3600 to $4000 but a few of years ago the club raised more than $6500. The auction is a fun event and members look forward to it.
