TREASURER DIANNE SHARPLES

Welcome to Sierra Pacific Region. I am Dianne Sharples from SI Visalia and am pleased to serve as your treasurer.

I was born and raised in Tulare, California, graduated from nursing school at UC San Francisco, received my MSN from CSU Fresno, and my doctorate from Nova University in Florida. I was active in nursing for 25 years, working in hospitals and public health, and teaching nursing at College of the Sequoias in Visalia. I then became Dean of Instruction at COS and did that for 18 years. Now I am retired from those jobs and have my own consulting business and also teach part time for CSU Fresno on a regular basis.

I am very active in my church, sing in choir and serve on different committees there. I also have a love of music, reading, and the mountains, and most especially gardening. I became a Master Gardener right after retiring from COS and am very involved in the volunteer opportunities of that organization.

I've been a Soroptimist in SI Visalia since 1991 and have loved every minute of it! The incident that really caught me was the International Conference in San Francisco. There I became so very aware of the impact we can and do have locally, nationally and worldwide! What a wonderful group of bright, active and committed women Soroptimist is. We play such an important role in helping women and girls and there is a lot more to do. I have served in a wide variety of capacities locally, and just finished the last biennium as District V Director.

This biennium promises to be a good one for the Sierra Pacific Region and I look forward to meeting many more of you as I take part in the leadership team.
