BUILDING CLUBSITESFAQ The Tech Team has provided every club in our region its own club website, or clubsite. It is the responsibility of each club, through its Tech Link, to provide content to the Tech Team, who will then format and upload the pages to your club’s site. The following Frequently Asked Questions section will help you understand the process. Can more informationsuch as historical information, dates of upcoming events and additional club officersbe added to my club’s home page? Absolutely! That’s exactly our plan. We will be delighted to add club history, upcoming events, additional officers, whatever you desire. Can more than two areas be added to the navigation bar on the right? Absolutely! It’s limited only by your imagination! Can graphics such as photos be added to the website? Yes! You simply need to email them to the Tech Team in .JPG format and we will put them up and attach them to your article. If you have photos that are not in electronic format, but just on paper, you may snail mail them to P.O. Box 580232, Modesto, CA 95358, and we’ll scan and upload them for you. Very easy! Can clubs update their own SPR clubsite? (The Tech Team refers to a club page on the region website as a clubsite.) In the interest of consistency and to make life easier for you, we’ll do all the updating. We have the programs to do it and it only takes a few minutes. All you need to do is simply email your information, articles, graphicswhateverand tell us what you want us to do. We’ll be happy to be of service. That is one of the goals of the Tech Team, to be here to assist all clubs and committees with uploading their webpage content. We just need you to supply the content. Clubsite updates may be emailed to Club Site Updates. Can you link our club’s own website to our region clubsite? Yes, if you have your own domain, we can put a link from the region’s site to your site. It’s very simple for us to add a link on the right hand navigation bar, however, we do hope that you will not allow your link to become a cobwebsite. We do have our reputation to protect. J A Tech Link is a new club position. It could be your club’s Communications Committee Chairman, or a member who is considered the techie in your club, or anyone who has a computer and would like to serve as liaison between your club and the Tech Team. The Tech Link will receive any tech-based communications from the Tech Team, such as Tips, Updates, Requests, Guidelines, What’s New announcements and the like generated by the Tech Teamall via email onlyand pass them along to all their members. The Tech Link would, in turn, advise the Tech Team of any issues that arise from within the club. If you would like to be your club’s Tech Link, first talk to your club president about it, then contact the Tech Team. If you are a club president and you want to know more about the Tech Link program contact the Tech Team. What happens to web pages that
are taken off the website? Additional questions? |
